When Shuttles opened ten years ago, its focus was to provide
a strong educational program in knitting, weaving and spinning. Today
our classes have expanded to include crochet,
tatting, basketry and felting. We also offer special classes from fiber
teachers from around the country.
Our shop and classroom space cover more than 6,000 square
feet chock full of colorful yarns, patterns, buttons, dyes, books, just
about anything your heart may desire.
We work very hard at providing the materials and necessary support for
our students and customers. We have teaching as our first love so it's
easy to keep that priority. Almost all of our employees in the shop
also teach classes and in the course of a regular day a lot of extra
teaching is done - from showing someone the Kitchener stitch to explaining
what a yo means.

The friendly faces you are likely
to meet at Shuttles: in the back row from left to right are Sue Henrikson,
Patt Hanson, Roxana Bartlett, Sharon Dalebout, Anne Sneary, Gail Madden,
Louise Bradley, Priscilla Wagener, and in the front are Judy Steinkoenig
and Maggie Casey.
| We've learned that customers enjoy seeing
finished products rather than samples so, while we have sample swatches
of yarns knit and /or crocheted, we have many completed products
using the most popular yarns. |

Our Community Knitting Progam provides a fun, social meeting
place for those who knit while serving a wonderful cause. Headed by
Roxanna Bartlett this informal group meets monthly to knit hats, mittens,
vests, teddy bears etc. for those in need. Roxana teaches a new knitting
technique at each month's gathering. Shuttles supplies the yarn for
the projects.
We
invite you to come in, take a class, ask some questions, or just say
hi. We are here because we love to teach.
